Lana’s summer school programs offer a range of personalized and engaging activities that promote academic and social-emotional development.
As summer approaches, Lana will continue offering comprehensive services in our three core programs in Washington, DC. We are dedicated to supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth through our High-Impact Tutoring (HIT), 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC), and SAT Prep programs. Here’s a preview of what we have in store this summer.
High-Impact Tutoring Initiative
The OSSE-funded HIT program is where we provide intensive, personalized support to help students excel. This summer, we will provide focused sessions in all four of our partner schools: IDEA Public Charter School, Theodore Roosevelt High School, Thurgood Marshall Academy, and H.D. Woodson High School. Students will receive one-on-one or small-group tutoring tailored to their unique learning needs. Our skilled academic coaches use data-driven methods to identify and address learning gaps, ensuring students gain confidence and improve their academic performance. The HIT program is ideal for those looking to make significant academic progress over the summer!
21st Century Community Learning Centers
Our 21st CCLC program at Cardozo High School offers a holistic approach to learning. This summer, the 21st CCLC will feature a variety of engaging activities that promote critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. Students will participate in academic and recreational services. Additionally, we’ll provide homework help and tutoring to reinforce classroom learning. Our goal is to create a fun, safe, and stimulating environment where students can explore new interests and develop essential life skills.
SAT Prep Programs
For high school students preparing for college admissions, our SAT Prep program is a game-changer. This summer, we’re planning to offer our intensive SAT prep course that covers all sections of the test, including critical reading, writing, and math. We’ll also provide strategies for tackling difficult questions, managing time effectively, and reducing test anxiety. With practice tests and personalized feedback, students will be well-equipped to achieve their highest possible scores.
