Our Academic Coach, Howard, remarks on how the HIT Program is back in stride at our partner school, H.D. Woodson.
The HIT Program is back in stride again at H.D. Woodson Senior High School. The program has a new set of students ready to academically excel and mature through social and emotional learning. Our children are our most valuable possession and our greatest potential resource. Any meaningful engagement with the student population is predicated upon creating a collaborative learning environment. Students learning a subject actively will translate into deeper learning, and a positive attitude toward challenging learning environments will enable them to learn more.
H.D. Woodson Senior High School supports the holistic development of its students. It achieves this through engaged teaching, behavioral support team, administrators, front office staff, partners, and parents. Benjamin Barber, and eminent political scientist theorist, once said, “I don’t divide the world into the weak and strong, or the successes and the failures…” I divide the world into learners and non-learners.”
Charged up and ready to go we will confidentially move forward with the HIT program. We believe that success is about learning by encouraging the students to have a growth mindset seizing the opportunity to become self-directed life-long learners.
