Our Program Manager, Matt, shares students’ impressive progress from our Fall SAT Tutoring programs in Washington, DC.
While my responsibilities at Lana Learn transitioned from SAT to managing our programs, I still maintain our SAT prep programs in Washington, DC. I have had the pleasure of working with 4 one-on-one students this fall season. Each one made significant progress in boosting their scores, and I look forward to seeing their official SAT scores this November.
Improvements in Reading & Writing
On average, students this fall grew their Reading & Writing scores by 57 points. The highest Reading & Writing growth achieved by a Lana Learn student this fall was 80 points. We tend to set a score goal increase of 50 points for our students, so I’m proud to say that in a mere 6 weeks our students have already made this achievement.
Improvements in Math
The average boost in Math scores this fall for Lana Learn students was 43 Points. The highest improvement from one of our students was 100 Points in just 6 weeks. These students aren’t even done with SAT tutoring this fall and they’re already well on their way to averaging a 50-point increase. Given how quickly they’ve grown, I anticipate that they will achieve this goal.
Why Lana Learn’s Model Works
Lana Learn’s tutoring model not only incorporates skills-based and knowledge-based pedagogy, but personalizes each student’s education. We take the student’s full academic background into account and address areas of growth on a personal level. Lana Learn’s tutors help students learn to identify areas where they can grow, and teach them to train themselves independently. We believe in the idea that students can become champions of their own education, and give them the skillset necessary to do so.
