Our Test Prep Program Manager, Matt, provides an update on how our SAT students have made progress towards their March SAT goals.
Our Spring Test Prep Programs are in full swing at Lana Learn in Washington, DC! It’s been a pleasure working with students as they work towards their March SAT goals. This spring, I have had the great fortune of working with over 100 students across two full-class programs and individual tutoring programs. I am elated to provide updates on progress being made across all of our Test Prep Programs this spring.
Sandy Spring Friends School
I am currently instructing, developing curriculum for, and managing an SAT Prep Class at Sandy Spring Friends School. 17 students registered for our program and have been making great strides in their test prep journeys. At the beginning of the program, I gave students a diagnostic SAT Practice Test to assess their needs and give them hands-on practice with the exam. Last weekend, we conducted a second SAT practice test to assess their progress after 4 weeks in the course. The results are incredibly promising:
- On average, students increased their scores by 74 points in just 4 weeks
- 6 students increased their composite scores by over 100 points
- 2 students increased their composite scores by over 200 points
The majority of students in this program are registered to take the March 8th SAT. I am eager to see the effect of this 7-week program’s instruction on their official SAT scores!
Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School
At Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School (DBCR), I have been leading 5 SAT Prep classes for over 100 students. The juniors have been making steady progress toward their SAT goals, in which they have set a benchmark of increasing composite scores by 100 points. Students have been diligently completing classwork, sets of practice SAT problems for homework, and attending after school hours to receive extra tutoring. I have no doubt that students at DBCR are on their way to achieving their SAT goals. I look forward to supporting students on their SAT School Day test administration in late March!
The Final Sprint
The beginning of March marks the start of the most popular month to take the SAT. Both my wonderful students and myself are working diligently to maintain the momentum necessary to achieve our test prep goals. Only one week until the March 8th SAT, and only three weeks until the SAT School Day. To all my students reading: you’ve got this! I couldn’t be prouder of the effort that you’ve put in.
