Lana Learn partners with the Latino Student Fund in supporting English language learners
The month of October has been one of student recruitment for our 21st CCLC program at Cardozo Education Campus. Our team has been working hard with the Latino Student Fund (LSF) in supporting English language learners. Their team has been busy attending back-to-school events, dropping in on classrooms, and setting up tables at lunchtime to inform students about the benefits of joining their Te Guio and Listo Programs. Each week, more students join the programs.
Te Guio Program
- Works with 9th and 10th graders
- Has a strong emphasis on mentorship and social emotional learning
Listo Program
- Works with 11th and 12th graders
- Focuses on college and career readiness
Both programs support students who are very new to the United States and the English language. They aim to provide newly arrived students with a smoother transition into the American school system and any additional support that they require. LSF works hard at the beginning of each school year with student outreach, and their programs have been yielding consistent numbers of students who enjoy attending.
