Growing English Language Programs with Integrity and Impact

Our CEO & Founder, Tina, remarks on the importance of integrity and impact when growing educational programs internationally.

Over the past year, Lana Learn has moved from pilot to program—and now, to implementation. In our government and institutional partnerships, particularly in military and national workforce contexts, the goal is no longer to prove whether something can work. The focus now is how to grow it intentionally, responsibly, and with results that hold up across agencies, borders, and time zones. Our keywords when scaling programs are integrity, and impact.

In Vietnam, our partnership with Unit 871—under the Ministry of National Defense—has progressed from launch to day-to-day operations. Instructors are trained. Language labs are active. Local teams are delivering instruction independently. Learners are progressing, and leadership has real-time visibility into how and where progress is happening.

This is not just the result of a strong curriculum. It’s the outcome of a program designed with governance, accountability, and cultural intelligence from the start.

What makes growth possible

We know that in government programs, protocol matters. Compliance isn’t an afterthought—it’s a prerequisite. That’s why our work has been structured to meet the unique requirements of multi-agency coordination, from Ministries of Defense to U.S. Embassies to donor-funded oversight bodies.

We build programs that are not only pedagogically sound, but also operationally realistic:

  • Reporting structures that align with host-nation and U.S. requirements.
  • A blended staffing model that builds local ownership and minimizes long-term dependency.
  • Systems that support policy continuity, even when leadership or priorities change.

And most importantly, we understand that local knowledge matters. Our programs don’t get stalled by missteps in translation—linguistic or institutional. We work directly with ministries, schools, and commanders to ensure that implementation matches intent.

A values-driven approach to scale

Scaling for us means more than reaching more learners. It means preserving what matters:

  • Program Integrity
Every expansion follows the same standards of quality, training, and data validation we’ve used in Vietnam and across our U.S.-funded programs.
  • Capacity Building
We don’t just teach English—we develop instructors, coordinators, and system-level leaders who can run programs independently over time.
  • Responsible Innovation
We use AI and edtech not to cut corners, but to save time and enhance customization. Technology supports teachers, not replaces them.

Why this work matters—professionally and personally

Mission alignment is more critical than ever right now in the global theater. For me, this work is both professionally rewarding and personally meaningful.

In my last role in the U.S. Foreign Service as a U.S. Diplomat, I served as a Program Manager for Southeast Asia, overseeing Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Burma. Supporting this region again—now through education and capacity building—feels like a full-circle moment.

It’s also personal. My father was an English language student before his own security cooperation training in helicopter pilot school. I’ve seen firsthand how language can open doors—not just for individuals, but for entire systems.

What comes next

Lana Learn is in active conversations with government, military, and education partners across Asia and beyond. For those looking to strengthen English proficiency—whether for national security, workforce development, or regional integration—we are ready.

The foundation is already built. The model is working. If you’re leading a national or institutional effort and want to accelerate results without compromising quality or compliance, we welcome the conversation.

Let’s move forward—deliberately, and with impact.
