Our DC Test Prep Program Manager, Matt, reports on the improved SAT scores for students in Lana’s Fall Test Prep Programs.
Fall 2024 was a busy time for Lana’s Test Prep Programs in Washington, DC. From one-on-one tutoring, to small-group tutoring, to full SAT classes, it has been an extremely productive semester. I am proud to share that 100% of students in Lana’s Test Prep Programs reported score improvements on the PSAT and Digital SAT Practice Tests. These improved SAT scores demonstrate not only the effectiveness of Lana’s curriculum and instruction, but the effort of DC’s hard-working students.
United Planning Organization
This Fall, Lana entered a new partnership with the United Planning Organization (UPO) in Washington, DC, to administer SAT Prep to students in their organization. We were able to conduct a small-group tutoring session with 3 students for 9 weeks, in which I met with students twice a week before school started. The program took place at Digital Pioneers Academy in Southeast Washington, DC. All 3 students demonstrated score growth on the PSAT and SAT Practice Tests. While we eagerly await their official test results, we are immensely proud of the students’ dedication to the program. Taking the December SAT before the March SAT will undoubtedly increase their final SAT scores this year and beyond.
Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School
We were thrilled to continue our standing partnership with Don Bosco Cristo Rey (DBCR) High School in Takoma Park, MD, by launching a Fall SAT Class this year. We are proud to report that all 9 students in the program increased their composite SAT scores by an average of 63 points in just 6 weeks of programming. The students also achieved an attendance rate of 100% for the entire duration of the program. Without a doubt, all students will demonstrate test prep growth on the official SAT this year. We are excited to continue our program at DBCR this Spring in preparation for the March SAT.
Looking Ahead: Spring SAT Programs
We are excited to hit the ground running this spring with Test Prep Programs at our partner organizations. We will be administering SAT and ACT Prep through classes at Sandy Spring Friends School as well as DBCR.
