Our Unit 871 Team Lead, Emile, describes the impressive progress of Unit 871’s English proficiency in Lana’s ELT program.
In today’s globalized world, proficiency in English is more than just a skill—it’s a gateway to international collaboration and professional growth. At Lana Learn, we are proud to support the Vietnam Military of National Defense (MND) in their ambitious goal of having 30% of the Vietnamese armed forces proficient in English by 2030. This initiative is not only a testament to the MND’s forward-thinking approach but also highlights the critical role of adult education in national development.
Seasonal Boost: Fall Brings Renewed Energy
We are pleased to report that the arrival of Fall has brought renewed energy to our program as the weather cools down. Cooler evenings have contributed to better sleep and learning conditions for our students, enhancing their overall learning experience.
Overcoming Challenges: Resilience in Action
Since our return from the Defense Language Institute English Language Center (DLIELC), we have encountered several challenges. Construction projects at Unit 871, including the installation of two new elevators, have caused numerous interruptions during class hours. Additionally, power cuts and a minor fire in neighboring classrooms resulted in power surges and further disruptions. Fortunately, the fire caused minimal damage, but it necessitated temporary evacuations to ensure the safety of students and instructors.
Despite these interruptions, our team has successfully adapted, ensuring that classes and teaching hours are supplemented or that additional support is provided to students as needed. This resilience and flexibility are a testament to the dedication of our instructors and the commitment of our students.
