Our Unit 871 Supervisory ESL Instructor, Emile, provides a mid-term progress update for Lana Learn’s ELTP at Unit 871.
Cohort 06 has reached an important milestone with the completion of the Mid-Term ALCPT at Unit 871. The cohort consists of 39 students across four classes: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta. Overall results show steady and encouraging progress from the Initial ALCPT to the Mid-Term ALCPT.
Mid-Term Score Report
Average scores increased across the cohort, reflecting growing language proficiency and improved familiarity with the test format.
- Alpha class continues to lead in overall performance, with several students meeting the 60 percent benchmark at mid-term.
- Bravo class has shown consistent improvement, with most students demonstrating clear upward movement.
- Charlie and Delta classes are progressing at a more gradual pace, which is expected given their lower entry levels.
Despite this, individual score movement shows that most students are improving steadily. These results highlight the impact of structured instruction, targeted practice, and consistent classroom routines.
The Mid-Term Break: An Opportunity to Recharge
With the Mid-Term ALCPT complete, the program will now pause for the Tet holiday. This break gives students time to rest, recharge, and spend meaningful time with their families. Time away from the classroom plays an important role in maintaining focus during an intensive program.
Following the Tet holiday, students will return to Unit 871 for the remainder of the semester. Instruction will continue to focus on core language skills, test strategies, and confidence-building. This final phase will prepare students for the Final ALCPT later in the course.
I look forward to welcoming the students back refreshed and ready to continue their progress.
