Our Unit 871 Team Lead, Emile, shares data on students’ success and growth in Lana’s English Language Training Program.
As we wrap up another successful year at Lana Learn Vietnam, we are thrilled to share the remarkable progress our students have made here at Unit 871, Hanoi. Our steady state program, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Defense (MND), is dedicated to achieving the ambitious goal of having 30% of the Vietnam Armed Forces fluent in English by 2030. This year, our students have shown incredible dedication and improvement, and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements.
Initial Success and Continued Growth
At the start of the program, 14% of our students who took the initial American Language Course Placement Test (ALCPT) scored above 55%. This score made this group eligible to take the English Comprehension Level (ECL) exam. Specifically, 5 out of 35 students (14%) were eligible for the ECL test required for follow-on training programs. This number increased significantly throughout the year. After the Mid-Term ALCPT, 10 students (28.57%) were eligible, and by the Final ALCPT, 16 students (45.71%) had scored above 55%.
Class Highlights
- Class Alpha: Starting with an initial overall ALCPT class average score of 55%, Class Alpha saw their average score rise to 64% after the Mid-Term ALCPT, and an impressive 71% by the Final ALCPT. This marks a total growth of 29.09%.
- Class Bravo: Beginning with an initial ALCPT class average score of 35%, Class Bravo improved to 41% by the Mid-Term ALCPT, and achieved a final average score of 50.5%. This represents a growth percentage of 44.29%.
- Class Charlie: With an initial ALCPT class average score of 30%, Class Charlie increased their average to 43% by the Final ALCPT, marking a growth of 43.33%.
Looking Forward
As we approach the festive season and the end of the year, we reflect on the hard work and dedication of our students and instructors. The progress made this year is a testament to the commitment of everyone involved in the Lana Learn Vietnam program. We are excited to continue this journey and look forward to even greater achievements in the coming year.
