Lana Learn’s Vietnam team prepared for the start of the American Language Course by creating an internal instructor training program.
October began with the Vietnam team preparing for the English Language Training Program at Unit 871. Lana Learn brought on a fourth instructor to assist in executing the terms of the contract with the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) and Vietnam Ministry of Defense (MND).
Lana Learn’s primary focus is to ensure the students at the Vietnamese military base achieve an English comprehension level that allows them to continue their training in at the Defense Language Institute (DLI) in San Antonio, Texas. The initial three instructors attended a 40-hour online training with a member of DLI. Then, they created an internal onboarding course from the American Language Course (ALC) materials given.
The instructors enjoyed creating the internal training program. This gave them the opportunity to solidify practices and their grasp of the ALC materials. The instructors were able to gain a wider perspective of the program whilst fine-tuning their procedure for student success.
