Five Reflections from 2025 at LANA

Our CEO & Founder, Tina, provides five reflections from the past year of serving students and strengthening systems at LANA.

As we look back on 2025, we find ourselves reflecting on the practices that shape our work. The year reinforced what matters most to us at LANA: staying grounded in service, intentional in execution, and keeping students and partners at the center of our decisions.

1. Students Remain at the Center of the Work

When we stay close to students, priorities become clearer.

Throughout the year, our students worked toward English language benchmarks, and we monitored their progress towards that goal. Supporting that work reinforced the importance of instructional consistency, clear expectations, and data-driven decisions. Whenever a decision was complicated, we found direction by focusing on the student experience.

Student progress remains the most meaningful aspect of our work.

2. Service and Alignment Guide Our Decisions

We are, first and foremost, a service organization.

2025 reinforced the importance of aligning our work closely with partner needs, program objectives, and shared expectations. Being responsive, practical, and solutions-oriented helped ensure that our support remained useful and relevant towards the service of others.

Service is demonstrated by providing consistent support to partners, students, and colleagues with commitment and attentiveness.

3. Doing the Fundamentals Well Builds Trust

Trust grows through consistency.

Clear standards, consistent practices, and disciplined execution build confidence among partners and provide stability for teams. Though often unseen, documentation, alignment, and routine actions set the foundation for a strong program.

Reliability is built through habits, not moments.

4. Strong Systems Sustain Quality

Strong systems make good work sustainable.

Continued attention to documenting procedures and strengthening operational systems helped ensure clarity around roles, responsibilities, and oversight. These systems support continuity and allow teams to adapt thoughtfully without losing accountability.

Good systems do not replace judgment—they support it.

5. People Make the Work Possible

Behind every program are people navigating complexity with care.

Throughout the year, maintaining regular check-ins, shared rhythms, and professional development helped teams stay connected and focused. Supporting educators and staff—while holding clear expectations—reinforced the importance of trust, individual and collective accountability, and professionalism working together.

When people are supported, programs are stronger.

Looking Ahead

These reflections continue to shape our work at LANA. We are deeply grateful to our students and partners who allow us to serve every day.

From these 2025 reflections, we end the year strong and look ahead to 2026 with greater intention and focus to advancing student-centered programming, service-oriented partnerships, consistent standards, and thoughtful execution—even better than before.
