Our CEO & Founder, Tina, remarks on the positive impact of conducting in-person strategic reviews with our partners.
At Lana Learn, we look forward to our annual strategic reviews where we have a chance to connect with partners—not just as a requirement, but as an opportunity.
This July, we are honored to meet with our U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) partners in Vietnam for a week of in-person engagement, reflection, and alignment. Much like our annual reviews with the U.S. Department of Education and the District of Columbia Government, this one offers a chance to enliven what is written in reports with what is actually happening on the ground. It is a moment to “show and tell”—to go beyond data points and bring our work to life.
The Benefits of Physical Presence
There’s something irreplaceable about being physically present: hearing the buzz of an English language class in session, walking through a training facility that has been transformed, or meeting the local instructors who make the mission real every day. When you can touch, smell, see, and hear the impact, it becomes something deeper than just metrics. It becomes a shared story.
These reviews are more than just updates. They are a chance to ask the right questions:
- Where are we exceeding expectations?
- Where do we need to double down?
- What new opportunities should we invest in?
For us, strategic reviews are about building long-term alignment—ensuring compliance, yes—but also uncovering areas for future growth. They help us deepen trust, clarify goals, and align resources with impact.
We root our approach in a long-term view. As a result, we do not just see a program; we see a partnership. One that evolves year over year through candid conversations, shared learning, and mutual accountability.
We are grateful to our DoD and other partners who continue to show up, stay engaged, and challenge us to keep improving. This July’s review in Vietnam is not just about assessing the status quo—it is about shaping what comes next, together.
So, here’s to growth, alignment, and the power of being in the room.
